Technical Infrastructure
At ControlWorks we take our technical infrastructure very seriously. We rely on leading names in the industry such as Dell, Cisco and APC to ensure that the IT backbone of the business is as strong as our programming skills. Our main data center in Cleveland is a dedicated climate controlled space with independent backed-up cooling, enterprise grade APC UPS protection as well as a 15KW standby generator for protection during extended outages.
Data integrity and project archiving ensure that your project source code is safe:
- We mirror in near real time between our data center and Cleveland and Boston
- All data lives in enterprise grade RAID arrays at each location
- We run nightly backups of our redundant RAID array
- Multiple external volumes receive a backup image and are stored off-site
- Source code is tracked and checked in and out with a package that was purpose built to our specifications
We maintain VPN access to our client sites for remote support and host a FTP server with password protected access for our Dealers to retrieve and deposit code changes securely. Our IP is managed and tracked by an application that was developed by our Applications Engineer Lincoln King-Cliby. Lincoln also manages our entire IT infrastructure as well as our Asterisk based VOIP phone system and has built all the back end support for our service based modules.
